SLGTI is a national institution was opened in 2017, is offering for young adults aged 16 or above, a diverse range of training in the fields of Automotive & Agricultural Technology, Construction Technology, Electrical & Electronic Technology, Food Processing Technology, Information and Communications Technology, and Mechanical Technology. Entry requirements for the related National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) Level 4-6 programmes suitable for students with pass at the GCE (O/L) Examination in 06 subjects or GCE A-Level exams or have obtained a National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) Level 3 certificate (at least) in their chosen field of study may apply direct to SLGTI.

- Refrigeration & A/C Mechanic
The classes are conducted by trainers undergone an international training with international staff ensuring quality of the training at the newly constructed buildings in Kilinochchi. The classrooms and workshops are designed to have the best conditions to teach in the specified trades equipped with state of the art equipment. In addition SLGTI offers Dormitories, Canteen and Childcare facilities/Kindergarten.
