
Special Grade Officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service with vast experience Mrs. Prince Sarojini Manmatharajah Charles was appointed as the Northern Province Governor by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
Charles had previously served as the District Secretary of Vavuniya and Batticaloa and later served as Director General of Customs and Secretary to the Health Ministry.
After the end of the conflict in 2009, Charles was in charge of the refugee camps in Vavuniya, housing about 290,000 people from the war-torn districts of Vavuniya, Mullaitivu, Kilinochchi and Mannar.
Mrs. P.S.M Charles is a graduate of the University of Jaffna, with two Masters Degrees from the Peradeniya University and Rajarata University in the fields of Disaster Management and Business Administration.
President has chosen an educated and talented civil servant for this important position, no doubt she would exercise her talent and capabilities to serve the people in the province.
