Sri Lanka needs knowledgeable people’s representatives!

*Regardless of the party political views of the present 225 people’s representatives, instead elect to the Parliament good knowledgeable candidates with religious beliefs*!

At the last general election in Sri Lanka, rulers mustered the 2/3rd majority of parliamentary votes they needed, they will probably try to do so in the next election as well. Many may even say that they will not be elected in the coming elections as they will have to account for their past corrupt practices before that and their abuse of power may also be scrutinized. People also recognize that their money power is likely to re-elect them.

The Sri Lankan rulers are standing quietly aside and are ready to retaliate on those who insult them; have also issued a warning that the anti-government protesters must contain themselves, otherwise the government will repress them.

Under this Sinario, it is not too much if the people themselves, regardless of the party political views of the 225 people’s representatives, instead of the corrupt high-powered ones, elect and send to the Parliament good knowledgeable candidates with religious beliefs in the next general election as the new people’s representatives!

IF there is another election and not when!

The ‘225’, a huge majority of whom are corrupt (irrespective of their political views) will not allow, let alone have, another election as they not only know that they won’t be re-elected but also know that they will/would/may be held to account for their past corrupt actions depending on the purity and resolve of those elected to replace them.

The ‘225’ would ‘purchase’ the necessary parliamentary votes needed to make up a 2/3 majority so that they can then amend the constitution to have elections every (say) 10 years thus buying time to continue their plundering of the country’s wealth or what little that’s left of it.

Once any repeats of this tactic have been exhausted and the writing is on the wall, these corrupt people would export whatever remaining funds of their not already taken out and vanish overseas to enjoy their ill-gotten gains.

This is my forecast. Let’s see if any of it comes true!
